The Social Security disability process can be intimidating and frustrating, especially if you have an illness or injury. Sandra Widlan takes on this challenge and fights for your benefits, so you can focus on your health and daily life. If you need Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Sandy can help.
Sandy represents clients in Social Security proceedings and has won important victories at all stages of the process. She knows the ins and outs of the system, including the government experts, the administrative judges, and the legal hurdles. She's a compassionate advocate who cares about her clients. Her knowledge, commitment, and empathy allow her to walk clients through all steps of the process in a way that is understandable and reassuring. She is committed to making sure they are not denied, not discouraged, and, most important, not lost in the system. She is equally devoted to her clients who have suffered medical malpractice or nursing home negligence.

Sandy joined Schroeter Goldmark & Bender in 1996, and is now a shareholder in the firm. In 1999, she took leave from SGB to become a public defender representing those who could not otherwise afford quality representation. There, she was known for obtaining victories in difficult felony and misdemeanor trials. She returned to SGB in 2001, where she represented plaintiffs in a variety of civil matters, obtaining million-dollar settlements and winning a judgment of over $1 million in a trial involving nursing home abuse. Sandy continues to represent clients in personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Clients, judges, and fellow attorneys commend Sandy for her preparedness, leadership, and aggressive advocacy.
Sandy began her legal career as a law clerk to former Chief Justice Barbara Durham of the Washington State Supreme Court. She earned her law degree from New York University, during which time she received the Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties fellowship. She completed her undergraduate degree graduating with honors from Northwestern University.
