Sims has more than a decade of experience as a litigator of professional negligence, product liability and catastrophic injury cases in both state and federal courts. He is known among his peers for his trial preparedness, skills, civility and professionalism both in and outside the courtroom, and case strategy. In addition to his focus on product liability and personal injury cases, Sims has a particular interest in professional negligence cases involving legal and medical malpractice.
Sims is a writer and frequent lecturer at events and CLEs on topics such as litigation techniques, maintaining client confidences, ethical obligations of billing practices and trust accounts, and ethics in civil litigation. He is a former chair of both the WSBA Professionalism Committee and the WSBA Lawyers Fund for Client Protection Committee. While in law school at the University of Washington, he was on the editorial staff for the Pacific Rim Law and Policy Journal and also founded an environmental litigation project called GreenLaw, an organization that continues its work today.
